Super Y League Platform

Welcome to the Super Y League

What is THE SUPER Y LEAGUE?

National Super Y League provides the opportunity for select players to continue playing at a higher level during the summer, while having the opportunity to qualify for the National Super Y Finals in December each year. Players are evaluated throughout the year and invited based on performance and coach recommendations to participate. Open tryouts for current and non-Inferno players will be held in early 2023. Players from any club affiliation are eligible to participate with Chicago Inferno for the SuperY Summer League. If you would like to request a tryout, email Technical Director Ewerton Andrade at Ewerton@chicagoinferno.net

When is the Super Y season?  The league runs over the summer with division games typically starting late June and ending by the first week in August.

Who do Super Y teams play?  The league play consists of teams in the Midwest division from Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Where do Super Y games take place?  Most games are played at neutral sites or for teams that within reasonable travel will have home and away games. Play weekends consist of weekends set up at neutral host sites where teams play multiple games over Saturday and Sunday.

What are program costs & what does it include? 2023 program fee is still being determined. The fee includes between 6-10 league games & 12 practices (2x a week- 90 minute sessions)

What are the travel commitments? A Super Y team can expect to travel out of state a minimum of 1-2 times (possibly 3) in one season. Indiana, Michigan, & Ohio are the most likely locations.

Teams Qualifying for National Championships:  National championships are held in Tampa, FL in mid-December.  Championship week is a 5 day event with qualifying games, finals and additional showcase games for teams not advancing to the finals. Teams qualify based on their standings within their divisions along with the number of spots given to each division. Every year, Chicago Inferno has qualified for Nationals.

In the 2016 Super Y season Chicago Inferno 2004 ELITE boys team won the National Title! In both 2017 & 2018 Chicago Inferno teams have been SYL Finalists. In 2019, Chicago Inferno 2005 FS boys team placed 2nd in National Title game! in 2021 our 2006 Premier Boys made their SuperY debut appearance and in 2022 we five teams compete at Nationals this past December!
